We followed this man for about a quarter of a mile before passing him. He asked me, with a gesture, if I wanted to buy a peach, but I declined. His fruit, like that of most of the fruit vendors in the city, was as perfect as it looks in the photo. |

This picture was taken at a mountain temple just outside Chengdu. The man was taking a short break by resting his load on his walking sticking. The stick is built to serve both functions. If you look carefully at the bottom bag, you can see that it says "50kg". This old man was carrying 220 lbs. of dry cement two miles up a steep mountain. |
