Gina and Lou in China

We live in a gated community. It has an actual gate made of steel bars. Gina took this picture while standing in the gate, next to the guard shack. We live in the foreign teachers' dormitory, which is at the end of the path on the right. It's not as nice as the building on the left side of the photo.

Everyone who works for the university, or who used to work for the university and is now retired, or who is a student at the university, or who is any way associated with the university, lives in university housing. The large building in the background isn't owned by the university and is outside the community's wall. Our complex is just a small part of the university's housing. This is a view of the upscale apartments in the complex.

This is the view from just outside of the front door of our building. The large building is on the other side of the wall, which is just behind the bushes. If you look carefully you can see that the wall has broken glass embedded in cement on the top.
